More and more Europeans have had enough of stress, the hustle and bustle of daily life, cold winters, and pessimistic prospects for the future. The desire to live in a country where the sun shines more often, where the sea invites you for a swim, where a zest for life is all around you, and where money is still worth something is in many of us growing more and more.
A popular land fitting this description very well is Thailand. "The Land of Smiles" offers everything that one Europeans dream of, whether for holidays or for partial or total emigrants. Thailand is comfortably reached by plane in 10 to 12 hours and if a night flight is booked, the greater part of the flight time will be spent in carefree slumber.
Those who would like to spend their retirement in whole or in part in Thailand will appreciate the low cost of living, the low costs for staff, and of course especially the climate.
Thailand is an insider’s tip among globetrotters because here the charm of a kind of backwardness and a lived ancient culture are perceptible, and this with an offer of goods and services which is hardly short of European standards. Spending one’s retirement years in tropical nature has become a trend.
The holiday homes in Ticino, Tuscany, Majorca, or on the Spanish coast have become in many cases an "obsolescent model." High prices, people frustrated by unemployment, price collapse on overpriced real estate, changed climatic conditions, or simply boredom among everyman have turned these at one time dream places into retorts or boring homes for the aged.
Thailand, what contrast. Here the people are light-hearted, even now, as the country finds itself in a time of upheaval. The Thai is happy, even if he only earns just under CHF 400 per month. He's in a good mood when he has only a few bowls of rice and fruit from his garden to live on. As a Buddhist, he leads a respectable life with a sense of humility and honoring the aged.
Thailand is ideal, because here the elderly are respected and around Pattaya there is certainly no chance for boredom to raise its head. Here you can choose between quiet and action according to your mood.
The Pepperwood Orchid project is operated by a group of investors. The ownership of land in Thailand and the management of the private resort are carried out by Sunday Walk Ville Co. Ltd., a Thai company. The management is in Swiss hands.
The initiator of the project is the artist Pepperwood (www.pepperwood.ch). In 1999, he moved his second home from Tuscany to Thailand to spend an exciting and active time here with his friends. Since 2010 he has been committed to the project to create exclusive private resorts. His vision has become a reality.
Through his many visits to Thailand he has the necessary expertise and a network of relationships to realize a project of this kind. Remaining active as a consultant in Switzerland (www.baettig - cons.ch), he enjoys the confidence of his friends and clients.
"The Pepperwood Orchid project is as exciting as the shared house I lived in during my studies, only that in this project each person their own house and thus more privacy," says the initiator.
"We want to be neither a nursing home nor an ordinary resort because a good age mix is important. With us the houses are not built in rows without any distance from neighbors, our lives are not in residential berths with a few square meters of green space. Also, the houses designed by me are very different from the usual market offering."
"In Thailand there are plenty of houses and apartments that are very cheap, but conceptually and structurally poor and often aesthetically lacking as well. Modern buildings built primarily by Europeans at a better quality of construction fit into urban centers, but with us an architectural style customized to the country and the culture are considered to be much more beautiful, so I build houses with an Asian touch, and at Swiss quality. And because one is practically always outdoors in Thailand, my houses have a large living room and an outdoor kitchen with a bar, so you can enjoy cheerful celebrations."
Between 2010 and 2013, the first private resort "Pepperwood Garden," spanning a surface of over 30,000 m2 and one minute by car from “Pepperwood Orchid," was realized. Starting in 2013, the first houses in the second resort "Pepperwood Palms" were be built on approximately 10,000 m2 and end of 2015 the Resort is fully realized.
The houses are built on behalf and for the account of the customer (construction buyer) at a flat rate for the creation . The construction supervision (construction management) is carried out by the representativ of the construction - creator , who is also the client trustee and coordinates the work .
